PediaFlow Funding Paused, Threatening Infant Heart Aid

Cornell University in Ithaca reports that researcher James Antaki of Cornell Engineering has been developing PediaFlow for over 30 years. The device is designed to support infants with heart defects, allowing newborns to go home with their families while waiting for surgery or a heart transplant.

Recently, the project received a $6.7 million federal grant to further its development. However, the funding has been paused, putting the progress of this lifesaving technology in doubt.
